Community
One of the goals of Branches Bike Shop is to encourage and equip people to fix their bikes rather than replace them in order to slow down the materialistic consumerism that drives waste in the cycling community. We do this by providing lots of educational content and free workshops throughout the year to help show people how to maintain their bikes.
In line with this goal, we have to have bikes to fix, so an idea was born to buy old bikes that are in disrepair for cheap, fix them, film the process, educate people about how it’s done along the way, and eventually, give those fixed bikes away. In order to do this more than just once, we have to make it financially sustainable. We aren’t a large shop yet, and we might never be, so we need help from people like you, who might think that’s a neat goal. If you would like to support our charitable mission to fix bikes, teach people, and give bikes to people who could use them, we offer stickers in our shop. For $5 each, every dollar of profit goes towards buying and fixing the next bike that will be given away, and you get a cool sticker!
Your support really means a lot to us, and we really can’t thank you enough. It’s very exciting to wonder where this journey might lead, and we will be sure to bring you right along the way as it progresses. :)
